Arnot Tower Gardens
Welcome to Arnot Tower Gardens in the Kingdom of Fife: ten acres of gardens and woodland around a medieval ruined castle.
As of January 2008, the Gardens are halfway through an exciting programme of restoration and recreation. To date, we have created the Italianate terrace with its stunning views over Loch Leven and the distant Ochil Hills; the south stair which leads to the hornbeam-enclosed water gardens with fountains and rill; the games lawn and the green walk, each flanked with 30m of herbaceous borders. A scented courtyard garden has been created in the ruins of the old castle, and the new native woodland to the west of the Victorian manor house is already well-established.
2008 sees work start on the Victorian kitchen garden to the north of the house: this 1/2 acre site will become a paradise of fruit, vegetables and, most importantly, a demonstration garden for growing wonderful, unusual and interesting cut flowers. Consolidation work to the ruined castle will also be carried out this year.
In order to focus on these new projects, we regret that Arnot Tower is no longer available as a venue for weddings or other events. We welcome garden visitors on Tuesdays over the summer months.
