April
The Gardens seem to get greener every day, as the buds start to break on deciduous trees with their fresh green leaves, and the foliage of the herbaceous plants grows new from the ground. Drifts of Erythronium and snakeshead fritillary enliven the woods, and masses of tulips start to bloom. The flowers on the early rhododendrons are out, and the others are fattening ready for their glorious display next month. |
