June
All of the trees are now in full leaf, and the Gardens become more secluded, with just a few key views out towards Loch Leven and the crags of the Bishophill (named after a member of the Arnot family who was Bishop of St Andrews in the 12th century). In the borders, bearded iris bloom alongside catmint, geranium and lady's mantle. Spires of veronica nod among the globes of the big purple alliums, and on the walk to the croquet lawn the tree paeonies are in flower. |
